Claude Lakey mouthpieces have been around for many years, and they have been well respected in that time. While they don’t enjoy the hype possibly of Meyer, some of my favourite players have played these pieces.
What the company Claude Lakey has reinvented is the ligature with the release of the Compass Ligature. We have seen these for the first time recently and they work great. Unlike most other ligatures they stay solid on the mouthpiece as the reed is taken on and off.
With this adding to the mouthpiece the whole kit is really affordable compared to other pro Mouthpieces. Not saying its what everyone should have but they are deffinately worth trying!
